The Super-Natural, Natural YOU. - GODSEARCH Episode 4

Hi, this is Michael Shevak, and welcome to God Search. This is podcast number four, the four cardinal directions, north, south, east, west. The four directions that all reality seems to shape itself in front of our eyes.

This is an important lesson because this is a transitional lesson between everything you did in the past and everything you can do in the future, a transition between living like an ordinary human being or living like a human being who is aware that they have a divine presence on the inside of them.

This is a really important lesson. I don't know if anyone has had the experience. I mean, if you look at my life, forget it. I definitely have had the experience. Where you have done something and it has produced a terrific effect.

It has energized your life. It's energized the life of other people around you. Everything came from it that was good. And I'm sure if you're a human, you've had the experience where you did something that turned into absolute mess.

An absolute mess for you, for everyone around you, and it was a terrible, what we call a mistake. Well, what is a mistake? That's a very interesting thing. How can there be a mistake if this so-called reality that we're dealing with is truth and unity and it's all an incredible harmonious glob?

Well, that's because our take on something was wrong. It's a miss take. So let's start from scratch with a very scary word. I mean, we, you know, in God search, we have to handle all this stuff. scary words.

You know, God, religion, last time we handled faith, now we're gonna handle a really scary word. Ready? Sin. Sin. Be afraid. Be very afraid. That is a word that is so terribly misused to make people mentally ill, obsessive-compulsive, to drive them crazy, split themselves into different fractures, have them live it out with other people, create their sins into reality, thinking that they have no other choice,

then being offered magical releases from it that don't work, that are really disguised to keep you in sin. It's a mess. The concept of sin is destructive. To an authentic God search, we need to have a new concept, but why do we need it?

Well, precisely because one can't have a mistake. In other words, one can do something that produces less good, less of the experience of God. So we have to have some kind of understanding of how things go wrong.

Otherwise, we can't very much explain the human condition. So you can throw sin and the excesses of sin out the door, just as you can throw the excesses of faith out the door, and the excesses of religion and then call it spirituality.

You can just throw them away, but you better have a better, sorry about my New York accent, a better explanation to handle something which is based in the human experience. Now, so let's start from scratch.

By the way, if you go to our website, yourgodsearch.com, on the publication page, there's a couple of books, and they may help you, you may want to read it. So let's start from scratch. The human being is not a mere animal, not a mere animal.

We are not merely natural creatures, you know, earthworms, amoeba, birds, bees, and trees. We're not really just natural creatures. And if you don't understand the difference between human beings and other creatures, then you won't understand an idea that human beings had to invent to explain themselves.

And one of those ideas are mistakes or sin. So we're not real. merely natural creatures. We are also supernatural creatures. Now that's not, we're not talking the WB and we're not talking supernatural and all of these, you know, comic strip heroes.

It's not, you know, scary, supernatural and witches and warlocks, so that's a part of it too. And we can talk about that at another time. We're talking super hyphen, natural, supernatural from the Greek meaning beyond.

Natural meanings, you know, earthly natural. We are supernatural. There are some other animals that have a little bit of that ability, certain birds, certain chimps. They are tool users, okay? For instance, a chimp can find a twig or make a twig out of a larger tree that has fallen and put the little twig inside a log and pull ants out of the log.

And use it as a kind of. chopstick in order to eat ants. It's a tool. The shrimp, the chimp had to have a concept of how to use the twig to aid itself. That's the beginning and the rudiment of being a supernatural creature.

Some birds do it also when they're building nests. Now what makes us supernatural is that we can create concepts that actually don't exist in earthly nature. Toasters, a computer like the one I'm using right now to record.

We are super-natural. We human beings can envision something that doesn't really exist without us. We can do things that God doesn't do. Now that's an amazing thing. Think about it. God does not fry an egg on Teflon.

We invented this substance called Teflon, right? I think it's a DuPont creation. This substance called Teflon that lets us fry an egg. Well, you know, if you believe in God and a creator, I'm not forcing that viewpoint, then you maybe make eggs, but you don't need to fry them.

So we create a concept that doesn't exist before, and we can bring that into reality. We are super-natural. Super-natural. And curiously, because there is great mystery around us, we human beings are simultaneously the only creature on earth that is a near perpendicular.

We are like an arrow from the earth to the heavens. We're vertical. we're nearly vertical expressing the fact that we can actually connect earthly nature to a higher nature because we have this supernatural ability in between that can make rocket ships that can maybe one day have a surfing gravitational waves.

The supernatural ability of you and me and everyone is why we even have to begin this idea of God's search because if you have this idea that we can do something that isn't already in existence, well there's no explanation for that except that there must be a higher power than mere earthly nature.

You see the experience of being human, of being conceptual. of being technological, meaning to create something just for us, a toaster oven, a blender, to be able to create just for us and not think about what the blender does for, you know, a goldfish or what the blender does to a grasshopper, just for us, is an extraordinary ability that opens up the entire question of God.

Because if we are that, then it's clear we're not an ordinary earthly natural creature. We are something else. You cannot understand sin and you can't understand mistakes unless you understand the fact that human beings can think in a way that's different than the earth.

That's obvious. Is there any other creature that sees the moon as an object in the sky? One that you might go there, like in Jules Verne, you shoot a rocket out of a cannon or now we go there with an actual rocket?

What creature sees the moon as an actual object that they might visit? Only a creature who can conceptualize relationships in a way that's higher than the earth, higher than the animal kingdoms on the earth, can we begin to understand floating heavenly bodies that we can actually visit beyond us?

And that's why, by the way, the Bible is very, very interesting. They do it in an old-fashioned way. But in chapter 2 of Genesis, you have the breath of God being breathed into the earthly dust. In other words, what's in the human being is material from the earth, but its spirit is not bound to the earth.

That's what in second Genesis and third Genesis, where they deal a lot with the creation of human beings, the difference between human beings and animals, we're made in the image and likeness of God, we already talked about it.

And they also deal with the issue of sin and rebellion and all of that nasty stuff from the Garden of Eden that is also used to make everyone insane, obsessive compulsive and nutty when it comes to the issue of sin.

That's where that stuff is, because whether you like religion or not, whether you like how faith is managed or not, whether you like how scripture is interpreted, nonetheless, there is a common human experience.

And on God's search, what we look for is the basic core human experience that allows us to understand what all of these different religions are talking about, what all the sciences are talking about, because we're dealing with truth-based, unity-based, and we're also dealing with the next thing, which is causality, cause and effect.

Now, here's the issue. Because we are supernatural, we can do things upon the earth that can be in alignment to the earth and how it's designed, or not in alignment to the earth, or a little bit in between.

We can do things that are harmonious, or we can do things that are not harmonious. We can make a mistake. So if I create an automobile that belches carbon monoxide, well, I can get away with it when there's enough air around.

But if I multiply, multiply, multiply cars that are belching out carbon monoxide, carbon monoxide, all of a sudden I experience a bad thing, pollution, asthma, cancer, because my supernatural creation, an automobile, perverted the natural order.

But here there's a contradiction that we have a real problem. So what are we supposed to do, go live in a cave? You see, how do we do it? Well, these days in age, we're already beginning to solve the problem by creating automobiles that are more harmonious with the design of this world.

We're not saying to human beings, don't be supernatural. You get a lot of people who want us to return to being nature and just... live in the woods and be totally cool and maybe a hippie and, you know, and just forfeit society and technology completely.

That's a little bit of an extreme from an authentic God search point of view, because you are super natural, but you are also, and this has been something that religions have been so afraid to get you to realize, that you are also natural creatures.

You eat, you breathe, you have sex, you digest your food. These are all natural things that make you part of the earth. So you see, the human being, being natural, but supernatural, has a different path.

We have to search for God. It's obvious that the earth is not our God alone. Maybe at one time it was when we hid in caves, when lightning hit. And we felt that nature was more powerful. Well, nature on Earth is somewhat more powerful.

But in other ways, is it when we can push a button and we can incinerate it with a nuclear bomb? So nature is on Earth powerful, but not powerful. We have tremendous power. We have power over nature within nature, upon nature and over nature.

It is very complex to be on a God search. And cars, by the way, are a terrific example of spirituality. So let's talk about cars, because if you can understand automobiles, you can understand what spirituality is about and what authentic religion is about and what this whole nastiness around sin is about.

You see, you create this idea called a car, it's wonderful, it's not disconnected from reality. It's not just in our mind. There's motion all over reality. Reality has motion and movement. And the human faculty of our mind allows us to understand motion.

And then we can understand how the laws of motion exist and how they operate. And then we can build an automobile that allows us to connect to our families. We can be long distance. We can go to their house for Thanksgiving.

We can do all sorts of things. It's a wonderful thing. But as I said, when we take that to excess, before you know, the automobile, which is keeping us close to families that are long distances and helping us, now wind up hurting our children with asthma and cancer.

And they rip the family apart, even though our intention is to bring the family together with the automobile. They rip the family apart because people get sick. That's a sin. a classic sin. You know, the Hebrew for it is het, right?

It means, you know, you aim for one thing, which is bring everyone together with the automobile really fast, and bang, you produce something else. In other words, your intention on what the car is supposed to do gets circumvented.

There's a mistake, meaning we created the automobile in our mind alone. Our supernatural creativity was not in harmony with natural creativity. In other words, human beings were split, and we were divided on the inside.

And that's what the Bible talks about. If you look very carefully and get rid of some of the religious excesses, you'll see what you're dealing with, the human beings that are complexities. We have more different sides of ourselves and an authentic God search.

Your goal. is to bring these faculties that you have together, your heart, your mind, your will, your body, your musculature, everything about you into harmony so that they are operating together. They're operating as friends inside of you.

As you begin to approach greater coherency in your substantial truth, meaning who you actually are. Let's say it's a soul. The more you begin to unify these, so they are working together, not just for you, but in relationship to other people, and all life and creation all around you.

The more you're causing and affecting, you're sowing and reaping, you're doing and achieving, your conscious ability to be supernatural and create something that doesn't exist on the earth. The more that is in harmony with everything around it, so that our creativity as supernatural creatures harmonizes with our earthly bodily nature, which has bodies and blood, just like all the other creatures.

When you get that kind of harmony, you get the beginning, the welcome mat to the God experience. The welcome mat to the God experience is the beginning of unity inside you, the acting out of that unity on all levels through you, and the sharing of that with other people, all life on the planet, and we'll talk about it, forming organizations, governments, that can help us achieve that if we all work together.

A true God search is very, very common. complicated and we can be really really annoyed at some of the bad stuff that misguided and mistaken and sinful religions have created but we gotta understand where they went wrong and so we can do it right because if we're going to have organizations and we're going to have governments and we're going to have religion, let's do it right.

So let's embrace our supernatural nature. That's what this is about. Okay. Now, how do you do that? Well, the example of the automobile is perfect. What it is is instead of looking at sin as a rule book given to you by religion.

You know, don't have sex unless you're married. You know, don't steal. Well, that didn't work in England. You know, they had so many people who were stealing because the economic system was so deranged.

and so elitist that a lot of people couldn't feed their family. So they resorted to stealing and they put them in jail and they kept them in jail. Overnight, next night and the next night someone would pay their tab, but they couldn't pay their tab because they were in jail.

And ultimately England had to create Australia to export all their convicts there because they needed to get rid of them. And those people became aristocrats eventually in a new land where they weren't plagued.

So religious rules like do not steal. Okay, they're nice and they're very valuable. But if you take them to excess and you put them in a society which is warping, how reality actually works for good.

How is this world designed to create good? Meaning, what do you have to do to create an experience of God that is good? And if you're in a society that's warping that, well, the rules thou shalt not steal have to be bent and they have to be broken.

And you have to do what's often called seek the spirit of the law. You don't prosecute someone who needs to feed a family if they steal a loaf of bread. So a lot of the religious rules are valuable, but they're not, as I said earlier, they're not in the right context.

And that's our problem with our political parties. They have nice different viewpoints. They're all very valuable viewpoints, but they don't have the right context. The context is reality, not religion.

Reality. If you do something like create an automobile that destroys the atmosphere, you experience in the consequences. When you experience the consequences, you go, I made a mistake, I sinned. I created something that destroyed the air and made my family sick and therefore I made a mistake that's called repentance in religious language.

I made a mistake. I need to correct it. I correct it. I create nice electric cars. They can be improved on also and now I can be more supernatural and natural, more harmoniously, more harmoniously, more harmoniously.

Every single problem we have in this world is due to the improper use. Every single human created problem. Every single human created problem we have in this world is due to a confusion and a misuse of our supernatural abilities, our supernatural abilities so that they conflict with our natural abilities.

So in a way the mind disconnects from the body and it does its thing and the body does this thing and it causes a difficulty. Now if you're biblically based there is a notion called covenant where you form an alignment with the design of the creator.

You come to understand the creator's will, the creator's desire, and you begin to modify your creativity and you modify your choices and you begin to learn how to co-operate with the design of this world.

So this way just like with an automobile your car is more harmonious with the design. You don't forfeit your ability to create something wonderful for your own use but it cooperates. It begins a process of covenantal alignment and alignment is a wonderful word for covenant.

It uses the original Latin root for the word covenant which is an alliance between human beings and nature. So we are working our supernatural and our natural abilities simultaneously and harmoniously like two gears that are put together.

So you see whether it's an abortion issue, let's please stop the silliness. Whether or not it's an automobile pollution issue, whether it's a genetic engineering issue, whether it's a nuclear bomb issue, whether or not it's poisons in our water.

issue, whether or not it's dangerous sexual practices, whether or not it's improper government action, or improper behavior on the part of politicians, or ordinary citizens for that matter. All of these issues are about the improper use of the human individual talent and ability to engineer what nature alone on earth doesn't do without us.

And either we learn how to use this faculty in harmony, or we're half the human being, half the human being. And that's what this war is right now between what I call the red team and the blue team. you know, some are naturalists, some are supernaturalists.

Well, I can do anything I want and I don't want any kind of control at all over my ability to create and invent. That's wonderful. That's the gift of free enterprise. That's the gift of capitalism. But at the same time, we happen to be on the earth and we happen to all have bodies.

And that's part of being a human being too. Right. And we're in this very strange debate between these two faculties and we're tearing the country apart between these two faculties. And there is no solution that is either going to be a blue solution or a red solution.

It's not going to be a purple solution or a white solution. The real issue is the spirituality in the United States in America right now is a sinful mess because we are not honoring the truth of both positions and learning how to work them together as a people in a way that is not sinful instead of a true democracy that's searching for truth.

That's searching for truth with unity and searching carefully to use our ability to sew and reap and be creative together in a way that functions for elevating us and creating more good, creating more of the experience of God.

Instead of doing that, we're just playing war games with each other's heads. You see? So your supernatural ability is the key to all of these things that are going right in your life and all these things that are going wrong.

If you look at your life and you see what's going wrong, you will see a confusion between your actions and natural reality. They don't fit. They don't fit. It's just like a that belches out bad gas. They don't fit.

Anything that's going wrong in your life is because your actions are mistaken. They are, in some fashion, sinful. You are making a decision to do one thing, but it's producing the opposite thing. You're missing the mark.

So this is the spiritual challenge. This is the spiritual challenge. Now, a lot of traditional religions say, God punished you, if something goes wrong. And a lot of the more spiritualist religions these days will say, you created your own reality by thinking this, and your individuality created this, and you caused the sin.

Well, God didn't punish you. You caused it to yourself. And the fact is both of these viewpoints are there to correct each other. They're there to correct each other because they are both not working together harmoniously.

The fact is, they both have one thing in common. The reality and the design of the reality we're in. When you create an automobile that doesn't work, it's because it is contrary to the order or the design of how the earth is made.

If God, the Creator, who designed this world, punishes you, it's because you are not acting harmoniously with the design or the will or the order of this God. You see, the key is order. We live in an order here.

We live in a beautiful order and we have to learn how to take our supernatural minds. We have to use it in harmony with the order, meaning how this world operates. If you're a very religious person, you'll call that order God's commandments.

If you're a spiritual person, you'll call that order nature. You can call it anything that you want. There is an order here and human beings need to learn how to operate with this order and within this order and create an alliance, an alliance, a covenant.

The problem is that everyone's using the authority of religion, the authority of tradition, the authority of clergy, and they're not opening their eyes and seeing that right in front of you, reality is speaking to you.

Reality is saying, that didn't work. Well, of course, and that worked well. Well, of course, because your action here was contrary to the way that the world is designed. And your action here was harmonious with the way it was designed.

You see, it's the design of this world that is the fundamental spiritual truth under religion. And all our actions will create good or less good, bad or less bad, because we don't live in a vacuum. We don't live in a vacuum.

So learn about your supernatural abilities and take a look at your life and see what's working and what's not working. And there you will begin to see the laws of creation. And those laws include the Earth.

natural life on the earth and they also include supernatural life. The ability of the human mind to vault the heavens, expand out into the cosmos, and create dreams that birds, bees, and trees, they don't dream it the same way.
